“As soon as I saw you, I knew an adventure was going to happen.”

Into the wild..with Jason & Sarah! One of our most memorable and adventurous shoot to date!

We’ve known Jason & Sarah for a while..and they truly are a unique couple. A fun-going and adventure-loving pair with a passion for nature and the outdoors. Staying true to their personalities and relationship, they wanted a shoot that genuinely reflects who they are as a couple. Their common interest included weekend waterfall trips and inline skating.

Sarah suggested this magnificent, rarely-touched forest reserve. An off-beaten track, a mere 2 hours drive from Kuala Lumpur. Carrying our equipments while wading through shallow rivers, dodging spider webs and traversing narrow paths was quite an experience to remember. Having a shoot during the rainy season, the concern of a sudden downpour was always at the back of our heads but thankfully the weather held up throughout the day!

We decided to shoot this set partially in films, one of our main concerns was the forest lighting – having to keep changing exposures from tropical canopies’ undercast to wide open areas. Totally amazed on how flexible films can be in handling different exposures.

All shots were developed and scanned by our awesome friends at Colordotcom PhotoLab

Besides weekend jungle trail, we got to know that Jason was into mountain biking and inline skating for Sarah. A skatepark would be an apt description for both of them! Shots mainly shot on film, until the sun really sets then we whipped out our digital gear instead.
